Chrismons = "Christ monograms"

Chrismon tree

Our decorated Chrismon tree

Some Chrismons are simple copies of Christianity from its earliest days; others are new explanations of God's never-changing presence in our ever-changing world, and some are combinations of several elements, the old and the new. We hope that these web pages will help you understand the truths that the tree proclaims.

May These Symbols Continually Remind You Of God's Greatest Gift Of All, Jesus Christ

a beautiful crown

The Crown depicts the Kingship of our Lord and His victory over sin and death, as well as his place of honor at the right hand of God the Father. I Timothy 6:15, Revelation 14:14, Romans 3:34

We all love to admire beautiful trees at Christmas, and many of us have lovely traditions in our families related to a Christmas tree. We here at Emanuel are starting the new millennium with a CHRISMON tree. This is a tree that consists of white pearl and gold ornaments all made as Christian symbols. Thousand of churches all over the world have done this special gift of love and wherever they are placed, they speak of our Lord and God: they are a "song" to the glory of God. Some are very simple, some rather elaborate, but all can be fun to create and enhance our Advent/Christmas celebrations for many years to come.

The Cross in Eternity symbolizes the nature of Jesus as eternal (never ending), and that He is the one with the Father and the Holy Spirit with no beginning and no end.

Jerusalem cross

The Jerusalem Cross was used by Crusader kings. The five crosses can represent the five wounds of Jesus, or has also been interpreted to mean the Gospel going out from Jerusalem to the four corners of the earth.
