WANTED: A few good people to join the Praise team and the Handbell choir. You might be surprised that you have talents you didn't know you had. Come and try us out: Praise Team meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. Do you think that MUSIC at Emanuel just happens? NO! It only happens when there are people who, love the Lord and love music, step forward and say, "I'll give it a try". There would be NO music if God's people sit back and think that someone else will do it, or they've done it already-now let others take over. Think of what that would be like!

The MUSIC MINISTRY at Emanuel is a diverse ministry with opportunities for all those seeking musical experiences. We are very open to contemporary and traditional music that glorifies God through many styles and formats of music. We feel with Martin Luther that next to the Word of God, music plays a fundamental role in our worship and in our daily lives. All of our groups have caught the vision of the church: that of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ to the world. Our ministry enables those who love to praise the Lord through their musical talents to do so by participating in the following groups:

PRAISE TEAM helps to lead worship in the New Spririt Celebration at 9:30 a.m. Sunday mornings.
We always have a need for instrumentalists (we have drums, guitar, keyboard but always are trying to enhance our group with new instruments) and vocalists: men and women.
We are very open to all contemporary music and glorifying God through many kinds and formats of music.

HANDBELL CHOIR plays for our service during the year. We have three octaves of Malmark handbells.
This small but friendly group adds a special dimension of handbells to our music program. It is open to all who seek a fun challenge. Music reading is helpful, but not required. Commitment is important.
We meet each Thursday at 7:30 p.m. during the school year.
In the summer we have a beginning bell group to learn more about the bells starting with very basic music reading and bell techniques. No musical experience is necessary.

OUR NEW ORGAN We are blessed to have a Casavant pipe organ with 15 ranks.
In June, 1999 we dedicated a new addition: the Alborn/Galanti digitally-sampled organ with MIDI capability, thus bringing the number of ranks of the combined organ up to 97. With this new addition our music ministry has endless potential as it takes us into the twenty-first century.
Soli Deo Gloria
